Deadline for Public Consultation on the Ethical Use Guide for Artificial Intelligence ends this Sunday.

The Public Consultation on the “Ethical Use Guide for Artificial Intelligence for the Brazilian User” is now open. This initiative from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP), developed with technical support from the Artificial Intelligence Center at the University of São Paulo (C4AI/USP), falls under Action 50 of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan (PBIA).

The Guide aims to promote greater understanding of how artificial intelligence systems work, addressing—in accessible language—aspects related to rights, duties, risks, responsibilities, ethics, and governance in the use of these technologies in the Brazilian context.

The document has been made available in a preliminary version and is open to contributions from society through a structured form, allowing input from citizens, companies, academia, and civil society organizations in a flexible manner, according to their areas of interest. The deadline for submitting contributions is April 19, 2026.

Given the current stage of development and consolidation of AI-based technologies in Brazil, this Public Consultation represents a strategic opportunity to refine the Guide, aiming for greater objectivity, alignment with national realities, and compliance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework.

Qualified participation in this process can directly contribute to strengthening ethical, responsible, and secure practices in the use of artificial intelligence, with significant impacts for public and private organizations, as well as users of these technologies.

Peck Advogados continuously monitors regulatory initiatives related to artificial intelligence and has a team of specialists ready to support critical analysis of the Guide, clarification of doubts, and preparation of technical contributions to the Public Consultation, always considering each organization’s realities and challenges.
