HOW DID IT BEGIN?
Founded in 2018 by Patricia Peck, PhD, and CEO of Peck Advogados, the Privacy BR Committee is made up of a select group of professionals affiliated with companies from more than 15 market segments, such as Education, Energy, Finance, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing, Jewelry, Services, and Real Estate. They meet to share daily corporate experiences and foster discussions related to regulatory advances in personal data protection and more technical issues related to privacy and cybersecurity.
Committee members meet periodically, with regular meetings held monthly via videoconference or in-person in a hybrid format, to welcome special guests, including international experts, and at special events.
WHATSAPP GROUP
Meetings can also be joined and interacted through a dedicated WhatsApp group, created to share news, content, and events related to the Committee’s objectives. This makes it an important networking channel and source of quality information to keep the company it represents up to date. In the opinion of our Committee Chair, Dr. Patricia Peck Pinheiro, “this is an opportunity to analyze regulatory trends in more depth, identify and highlight socioeconomic impacts, and methods for complying with new privacy and cybersecurity rules.”

ESG PROGRAM
The Peck Institute for Digital Citizenship (IPCD) was created in 2010 (then known as iStart) by Dr. Patrícia Peck Pinheiro, a lawyer specializing in Digital Law, with the goal of promoting education in Digital Ethics and Security among Brazilian families.
IPCD’s mission is to develop the new digital citizen.
The goal is to build a sustainable Digital Brazil through Digital Education. The Institute works directly with schools to train teachers and students better equipped to deal with the new challenges of the Digital Society and the growing use of technological resources, both inside and outside the classroom.

LGPD Certification
The LGPD Certification was launched in 2022 with the goal of validating the degree to which institutions comply with the guidelines established by the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). In addition to verifying compliance, the certification aims to encourage engagement and strategic planning by educational managers regarding the ethical, responsible, and transparent use of technology.
Safe Digital School Certification
The Safe Digital School Seal is a four-level certification program administered by the Peck Institute for Digital Citizenship since 2010. Its primary goal is to strengthen institutional defenses against concerns related to bullying and cyberbullying within educational environments.

Digital Citizenship Campaign
The Digital Citizenship Campaign is an educational initiative designed to promote awareness about the essential precautions individuals must take—especially in the digital environment. It focuses on simplifying the understanding of both national and international regulations, including the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Its central mission is to clarify the rights and responsibilities surrounding the use and protection of children’s and adolescents’ personal data, fostering ethical, responsible, and informed digital engagement.
